Our Story
A New Dawn was created to support, encourage and provide resources for survivors of child loss. A New Dawn was birthed after our beloved Sha'don Gordon, my 18 year young son, ascended on my sisters 47th birthday 3-23-25.
Among all my life’s challenges, none have been as profound or transformative as this one. After Sha'dons memorial gathering and everyone travelled to their homes, we were left to figure out life on this new path.
There were days we could not eat, move or function. Not many people we knew could truly relate to the loss of a child, and while many offered words, there was little tangible support to help me and my children navigate life after such a loss. As I sought out tools to help us through those initial days, weeks, and months, I kept note of what my family and I needed and use to this day.
Out of deep loss came a renewed purpose
the formation of A New Dawn: Bereavement Resource Network, a testament to resilience, endurance and the light that emerges when hearts heal together.
We are still here carrying the love that never fades. Though our loved ones are gone from sight, their spirits remain eternal. I choose to honor my son’s life and legacy by continuing to shine his light into the world through acts of service and compassion.
This path was never meant to be walked alone. We need one another. Hearts joined in hope and healing to strengthen our community of those who have endured the loss of a child(ren). Together, we carry each other’s light and remind the world that love never ends!
